Conservation Poster Contest

The 2026 Theme is,          Soil. Where it all Begins.

The National Association of Conservation District (NACD) hosts an annual poster contest promoting a new conservation theme each year. The contest is open to any student in Washington County grades Kindergarten through 12th grade. There are 2 categories for submission; Hand Drawn Poster and Digital Poster. Classroom visits can be schedule with activities related to the theme. The Washington SWCD can provide the posters for classes. Interested in participating? Posters are due to the Washington SWCD by May 1, 2026. Arrangements can be made for the posters to be picked up. Important: Each poster must have a release form completed with it.

Hand Drawn Posters Requirements:

  •  Poster Size 14 in x 22 in (half poster), no smaller then 11 in x 17 in
  • Paint, Crayon, Colored Pencil, Charcoal, Stickers, Paper are accepted as media used to make the posters. 
  • Encouraged Posters are made by the student with little guidance given from adults.

  • K-1st
  • 2nd-3rd
  • 4th-6th
  • 7th-9th
  • 10th-12th

Digital Posters Requirements: 

  •  Poster size 11 in x 17 in (no smaller)
  • Created using graphic design software
  • Encouraged Posters are made by student with little guidance given from adults.
